Head West Tour
This tour takes in the many delights of Peel, the most Manx town on the Island, and builds in a taster of, not one, but two courses used for the historic TT Races.
After pick-up in Douglas the tour begins at the TT Grandstand where the world's oldest motorcycle races start. It continues along the first 7 miles of the TT Course, that has been used since 1911, as we head to St John’s.
At St John's we view the start-point of the very first TT Race that was held in 1907. As the village is in the centre of the Island it was chosen by the Vikings as the site of Tynwald, the very first parliament being held in 979 and still a ceremonial site.
On to Peel with its attractive fishing harbour, breakwater and historic castle with over 1500 . Pick up a seafood snack, crab bap is a speciality, and stop at the kipper smoke house. The tour returns to Douglas via Knockaloe - the site of a large internment camp in the First World War - and countryside in the centre of the Island.
The tour lasts approx. 1½ hours, with 5 stops at points of interest.
Price is £90 per car.
